What could be more exciting than learning from professional cinematographers and then creating your own film? The senior students in Branksome's Film Program are inspired by visiting screenwriters and cinematographers, tours of photographers' studios, and their own committed film teachers.
Students explore a wide range of themes through studio work, including storyboarding, writing and creating films and multimedia works. They use the critical analysis process when evaluating their own films and the films of others. Students also study aspects of film history, genre, script writing, analysis, as well as films from Canada and other parts of the world.
By Grade 12, Film students refine their use of the creative process when writing and creating films using a variety of traditional and emerging media and technologies. Our program enables students to explore a range of processes and techniques that can be applied in students' own film production. Students will also make connections between various works of film in personal, contemporary, historical and cultural contexts.
