Branksome Wins Awards for Innovation in Marketing, Advancement and Magazines

Branksome Hall’s Advancement and Community Engagement (ACE) team has won three awards recognizing innovation in the school’s marketing, advancement and magazines.

The Canadian Council for the Advancement of Education (CCAE) awarded a silver Prix d’Excellence award for Best Report to Donors for Branksome’s 2022–23 Donor and Giving Report. Branksome and Upper Canada College were the only independent schools to win an award, alongside postsecondary institutions across the country.

The Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) awarded Branksome two awards through its Circle of Excellence program for universities, colleges and independent schools around the world.
The school’s Make Way admissions recruitment campaign won silver in the Marketing Initiatives category. The judges noted in their remarks: "Showcasing real Branksome Hall students, the Make Way campaign earns acclaim for its striking visual identity, featuring a vibrant color palette juxtaposed with captivating black and white photography. Through dynamic imagery capturing moments of confidence, the campaign embodies the spirit of breaking barriers and challenging norms. The commanding primary typeface reinforces the campaign's assertive messaging. Despite budget constraints, the campaign leveraged independent vendors to deliver fresh and compelling content, setting new standards in the independent school sector. With a multiplatform approach, including print, digital, and out-of-home placements, Make Way boldly asserts Branksome Hall's commitment to female empowerment and innovation."

The READ alum magazine’s winter 2023 issue was awarded bronze in the best alum magazine category for independent and international schools. In the judges comments, they noted: "This is an attractive magazine with great design and feeling. Kudos for using an all-alumni contributor list. Additionally, the theme of a “fiercely independent production” in honor of the school’s new tagline and rebrand was clear and impressive throughout via content and visuals."

Branksome’s Advancement and Community Engagement team helps to nurture the school’s special relationship with parents, alums, grandparents, past parents, employees and other partners—enhancing community members’ connections to Branksome and to one another. Congratulations to the team on the conclusion of another successful school year and to all those involved in these initiatives, which placed with such distinction among Branksome’s peers in Canada and around the world.

LAND ACKNOWLEDGMENT
We wish to acknowledge this land on which Branksome operates. For thousands of years, it has been the traditional land of the Huron-Wendat, the Seneca, and most recently, the Mississaugas of the Credit River. Today, this meeting place is still the home to many Indigenous peoples from across Turtle Island and we are grateful to have the opportunity to work and go to school on this land.

Setting the new standard for girls' education everywhere takes collective action. From all of us.
