Alumnae Association Endowed Bursary
Remarkable girls come from every socio-economic background. Each year, Branksome is made aware of countless young women who would flourish at and enrich our school, but who are unable to attend solely because the cost of tuition exceeds their families’ means. These girls often include the daughters and granddaughters of alumnae.
The Alumnae Association Endowed Bursary Fund provides needs-based student financial assistance to deserving girls who wish to attend Branksome, but whose families are unable to afford the full cost of tuition. As an endowed fund, it's held, invested and grown by the Branksome Hall Foundation in perpetuity. Every year, four per cent is disbursed to the school for use as student financial aid.
Generations of Branksome alumnae have chosen to contribute to the Alumnae Association Endowed Bursary Fund with gifts ranging in size from $10 to $50,000. Today, the Alumnae Association Endowed Bursary Fund is the largest single endowed fund held by the Branksome Hall Foundation — providing more than $30,000 in student financial aid each year. As further donations are made in support of the fund, its impact will only continue to grow.
We wish to acknowledge this land on which Branksome operates. For thousands of years, it has been the traditional land of the Wendat, the Seneca, and most recently, the Mississaugas of the Credit River. Today, this meeting place is still the home to many Indigenous peoples from across Turtle Island and we are grateful to have the opportunity to work and go to school on this land.*
*The Land Acknowledgement may evolve as we honour our commitment to Truth and Reconciliation in partnership with Indigenous communities.
