Meet Our Class of 2020 Reunion Representatives

Elaine LEE'20, Laeticia NIU'20 and Siena IANNI-PALARCHIO'20
2025 marks the Class of 2020’s first Reunion, and we wanted to catch up with where they’ve been and what they’re looking forward to about returning to campus this spring.

To start us off, we’d like to introduce you to our amazing Reunion Representatives for this graduation year who are helping to gather their classmates: Elaine LEE'20, Laeticia NIU'20 and Siena IANNI-PALARCHIO'20.
What’s something from the past five years that you're excited to share with your classmates?

Elaine: For friends coming back to Toronto, I’m excited to share my cafe and restaurant recommendations! Five years as a young adult in Toronto have brought me so many new and fun experiences… including bawling my eyes out at an Adrianne Lenker concert and learning how to do latte art at a student volunteer-run cafe.

Laeticia: I’m excited to share stories from the last few years, from university to working full time and everything in between. The last five years have flown by!

Siena: One of my highlights from the past five years was a little side project I did during my undergrad called GLEAM. Ask me about it at the Reunion!

Tell us a bit about the path that led you from Branksome Hall to where you are today.

Elaine: I completed my BA in English at U of T and I’ve been grateful to continue my education in such a vibrant and literary city. Now, I'm finishing up the first of a two-year master’s program that combines academic study and creative writing. I am also working on a full-length poetry collection for my thesis project.

Laeticia: I recently completed my BAsc in Applied Math Engineering at Queen’s University and am excited to be back working in Toronto.

Siena: Last year, I completed my BESc in Civil Engineering at Western University and I have Branksome’s Robotics team to thank for the start of this path, since it was what initially interested me in engineering! Now, I have continued to develop my technical skills through a research-based masters degree that is focused on environmental and water resources engineering.

What's something that you're excited about for coming to your first Reunion?

Elaine: I’m excited to be back in a space where I spent some of my formative years! It feels special to be able to celebrate those friendships I’ve cultivated, where it all happened.

Laeticia: I’m looking forward to being back at Branksome and to catching up on all the interesting things people have been up to. It will definitely be nostalgic to be back on campus!

Siena: I’m looking forward to reconnecting with some familiar faces and meeting alums from other graduating classes. I’m also especially excited to see Ribbit! I used to be Ribbit’s friend during alum events, essentially walking him around to meet and greet alums, so being on the other side of that interaction will be such a full circle moment for me.

LAND ACKNOWLEDGMENT
We wish to acknowledge this land on which Branksome operates. For thousands of years, it has been the traditional land of the Wendat, the Seneca, and most recently, the Mississaugas of the Credit River. Today, this meeting place is still the home to many Indigenous peoples from across Turtle Island and we are grateful to have the opportunity to work and go to school on this land.*

*The Land Acknowledgement may evolve as we honour our commitment to Truth and Reconciliation in partnership with Indigenous communities.

Setting the new standard for girls' education everywhere takes collective action. From all of us.
