Transformational Gifts

Transformational Gifts

Branksome is very grateful to our many community members who choose to make transformational gifts to the Make Way campaign. Our most generous donors drive extraordinary impact and transformative change.

Gifts of this magnitude, which can be pledged over multiple years, typically range from $25,000 to seven figures. Transformational-gift donors can create a meaningful legacy with naming opportunities, with various spaces available within iCAST corresponding to different levels of support. Learn more about how to pledge your support, naming opportunities and the tax advantages associated with supporting Branksome.

Pledging Your Gift and Naming Opportunities

Many donors to the Make Way campaign have decided to pledge their support over time, allowing them to significantly increase their gift while limiting the impact to their personal finances. By naming a space, they are able to leave a permanent legacy at Branksome Hall.

  • What is a pledge? +

A pledge is a commitment to provide the school with a donation for a specific total amount that is spread over a set time frame, usually three to five years.

A donor has the discretion to structure their pledge to best suit their financial circumstances.  This includes the amount paid each year (which does not need to be equal over the life of the pledge) as well as the timing of their payments.

  • Is a pledge commitment legally binding and am I able to change the terms if required? +

When a donor decides to pledge their support, a pledge agreement is drafted and signed by the Principal and the donor. The agreement is not legally binding but is used as a memorandum of understanding between the donor and the school to outline information about the gift, as well as any recognition associated with the donation.

A donor may amend the terms of their pledge at any time by contacting the school.
  • What are the benefits of pledging my gift? +

A pledge allows you to make a larger commitment to the school than you would otherwise be able to if you were giving a one-time gift. This increases the impact you have on our students while also limiting the impact to your finances and increasing the tax benefits of your gift.

A pledge also provides the school with the opportunity to honour and recognize your commitment at a higher level. This includes donor listings, donor walls, events and naming opportunities.

A pledge opens the door to greater choice when choosing your named space. As a way to celebrate our donors, depending on your level of support, Branksome offers you the option to name a space within iCAST.
  • iCAST naming opportunities and the Stepping Stones Donor Wall +

Naming opportunities at a range of giving levels are available within the Innovation Centre and Studio Theatre as well as on the Stepping Stones Donor Wall.

LAND ACKNOWLEDGMENT
We wish to acknowledge this land on which Branksome operates. For thousands of years, it has been the traditional land of the Wendat, the Seneca, and most recently, the Mississaugas of the Credit River. Today, this meeting place is still the home to many Indigenous peoples from across Turtle Island and we are grateful to have the opportunity to work and go to school on this land.*

*The Land Acknowledgement may evolve as we honour our commitment to Truth and Reconciliation in partnership with Indigenous communities.

Setting the new standard for girls' education everywhere takes collective action. From all of us.
