Kevin Goodridge Appointed Chief Innovation Officer

Branksome Hall is delighted to welcome Kevin Goodridge as the school’s new Chief Innovation Officer (CIO). Kevin’s first day was June 10, 2024.
In this senior leadership role, reporting to the Principal, Kevin will drive the strategic direction, vision and blueprint for the future of innovation, technology and entrepreneurship at Branksome Hall. He will lead curriculum innovation and integration, supporting capacity building for employees and providing oversight of technology support, infrastructure and industry partnerships. Leveraging the school’s new Innovation Centre and Studio Theatre, set to be completed in Fall 2025, and in collaboration with teams across the school, Kevin will champion girls’ education and leadership in STEAM and entrepreneurship, including the Branksome Hall NOODLE business accelerator program.

As CIO, Kevin will also engage with Branksome’s Innovation Council, an advisory body of leading-edge experts and entrepreneurs, to identify opportunities and partnerships ensuring that our students stay ahead of the curve and remain future focused.

An educator by training, Kevin brings extensive experience in education and information technology leadership within both the independent school sector and the technology industry. In his previous role at Apple Canada, he was an educator on the Leadership and Learning team, where his work involved supporting school districts seeking to solve challenges with technology-based, novel solutions through planning, design and implementation. While at Apple, he also served as the Co-Chair of Black@Apple, leading recruitment, strategic planning and development, building engagement and business impact, and advancing DEI within the Apple organization.

Prior to his most recent roles, Kevin was an Account Executive in K12 Education for Apple within the GTA, and has served as an industry advisor for universities and colleges. Before his time at Apple, Kevin was Director of IT at St. Mildred’s-Lightbourn School for six years, as well as Director, New Media at Appleby College. He taught Media, Music and Visual Art at The Bishop Strachan School before pursuing his interest in entrepreneurship, establishing himself as a freelance web-developer and then joining internet startup ecentricarts inc. as Senior Developer and lead programmer for a number of award-winning websites. Kevin holds a Bachelor of Education and a Bachelor of Musical Arts from Western University, and a Certificate in Strategic Enterprise Solutions from the Schulich Executive Education Centre.

Welcome to the Branksome Hall community, Kevin! We look forward to working with you and learning from you as you get settled into your new professional home.

LAND ACKNOWLEDGMENT
We wish to acknowledge this land on which Branksome operates. For thousands of years, it has been the traditional land of the Wendat, the Seneca, and most recently, the Mississaugas of the Credit River. Today, this meeting place is still the home to many Indigenous peoples from across Turtle Island and we are grateful to have the opportunity to work and go to school on this land.*

*The Land Acknowledgement may evolve as we honour our commitment to Truth and Reconciliation in partnership with Indigenous communities.

Setting the new standard for girls' education everywhere takes collective action. From all of us.
