Financial Assistance

Philosophy

Branksome supports students through a program of financial assistance (bursaries) and entrance merit scholarships. Our philosophy is to support, in part, as many families as possible as they look to finance their Branksome experience during Grade 7 to 12.

Approximately $1.4 million annually is awarded in financial assistance. Every year, approximately 10 per cent of Branksome students receive financial assistance in the form of a bursary or entrance merit scholarship.

Financial Assistance Overview

The primary responsibility for payment of all fees rests with the student’s family.

Branksome Hall offers financial assistance, at various levels, to students in Grades 7 to 12 who qualify for admission to the school and whose families can show evidence of financial need.

Both new and returning students from Grades 7 to 12 are eligible for financial assistance.

  • Academic excellence is not a requirement for awarding financial assistance, but students are expected to maintain good academic standing and to be positive, contributing members of the school community.
  • Renewal of financial assistance is not automatic; families must re-apply annually.
  • Financial assistance is awarded as a reduction of fees, not as cash.
  • Cost of attendance (not only the tuition fee) is taken into consideration.

Financial Assistance Application Dates

All families are advised to apply for financial assistance at their earliest convenience, as funds are limited.

  • The deadline for returning families is December 1, 2025.
  • The deadline for new families is January 5, 2026.

All decisions are made by the Branksome Hall Financial Assistance Committee and are communicated in late February.

How to Apply For financial assistance

Interested families need to complete the Financial Aid for Canadian Students (FACS) form, which is completed through Apple Financial Services (button to website above). Applications should be made to Apple Financial by December 1, 2025 for returning families and by January 5, 2026 for new families. The application form and further information can be obtained from the Apple Financial Services website.
 
New families are also required to complete a Branksome Hall application form.

  • Overview

    Recognizing the importance of travel opportunities and the financial constraints that school trips might impose, endowed bursaries established by donors enable our students to participate in these specialized programs.

    • The Financial Assistance Committee meets regularly to review applications for Trip Financial Assistance.
    • All inquiries and applications remain confidential.
    • Applications must be made at least 45 days in advance of the school trip to allow for consideration by the Financial Aid Committee.
    • For those families who have already completed the application to Apple Financial Services this year, the Travel Financial Assistance Request Form must be completed and submitted by email to assistancefortrips@branksome.on.ca at least 30 days in advance of the school trip.
    • Request forms should be emailed to assistancefortrips@branksome.on.ca.
  • More than $1,000 in Support

    Families requesting more than $1,000 in support are asked to apply for Trip Financial Assistance by first applying to Apple Financial Services, and then completing the online Travel Financial Assistance Request Form.

  • Less than $1,000 in Support

    Families requesting less than $1,000 are asked to simply complete the online Travel Financial Assistance Request Form.
