Steps to Follow

  • Step 1: Create Your Account and Submit Your Application

    Create an account on the Portal to allow you to complete and submit your application, including payment of the application fee.

  • Step 2: Application Checklist

    The application will be processed within two business days. Once processed, a checklist will be assigned to your account, where you will then have the ability to upload required documents including:

    • Birth certificate and/or passport
    • Relevant report cards
    • Book an interview*

    *Selected applicants to Grades 10 and 11 will be invited to book an interview after completing the assessment.

  • Step 3: Assessment and Interview

    All Grade 9 applicants will participate in the interview and assessment. All Grade 10 and 11 applicants will participate in the assessment, and selected applicants will be invited to continue with the admissions process, including an interview.

    For the assessment, applicants may choose to either submit their Secondary School Admissions Test (SSAT) results or complete the Branksome Hall Entrance Test. 

    For the interview, no preparation is required as this is an opportunity for us to connect and get to know prospective students and their families.

    All applicants will receive a decision on their application on Friday, February 26, 2027.

Assessment and Interview Requirements

Due to the nature of the IB Diploma Programme, we only accept applications up to Grade 11.

Major Entry

All applicants participate in the full admissions process, including the assessment and interview.

  • Grade 9: 26–30 openings

Selective Entry

All applicants participate in the assessment. Selected applicants are invited to move forward with the admissions process, including an interview.

  • Grade 10: 6–10 openings
  • Grade 11: 4–6 openings

Interview

Interviews can be scheduled directly through the Portal once the application checklist is assigned. The interview will begin with questions for the applicant, followed by a discussion with the parent(s).

Assessment

Grade 9 applicants are required to either write our Branksome Hall Entrance Test or submit their results of the SSAT (Secondary School Admission Test). No preference is given to either test in the admissions process.

Deadline: Please book your test to be written by January 22, 2027. 

Branksome Hall Entrance Test
Grade 9 applicants who choose to take the Branksome Hall Entrance Test will be invited to campus on January 15, 2027.

  • Format: In-person on campus
  • Date: January 15, 2027
  • Duration: 90 minutes
  • Content: Math (60 minutes), English (30 minutes)

More details will be shared with applicants throughout the Admissions process.

Based on initial screening of the application and past report cards, selected applicants will be invited to participate in the assessment. Please ensure all available documents are uploaded by December 1, 2026. 

Assessment

Grades 10 and 11 are selective entry years, meaning all applicants participate in the assessment, and selected applicants are invited to move forward with the admissions process, including an interview.

The Grades 10–11 selective entry process requires a completed application form and report cards (as available) by December 1, 2026.

Admissions reviews these components together with the results of either the SSAT or Branksome Hall assessment throughout December and invites selected applicants to an interview in January; missing components may result in a delay in the admissions process.

SSAT (Secondary School Admission Test)
Grades 10 and 11 applicants are required to either participate in the Branksome Hall Entrance Test or submit their results of the SSAT. No preference is given to either test in the admissions process.

Branksome Hall Entrance Test
Grade 10 and 11 applicants who choose to take the Branksome Hall Entrance Test will be invited to campus on December 10, 2026.

  • Format: In-person on campus
  • Date: December 10, 2026
  • Duration: 90 minutes
  • Content: Math (60 minutes), English (30 minutes)

Interviews

Only selected applicants will be invited to schedule an interview through the Portal.

The family interview will include questions for the applicant first, followed by the parent(s). No preparation is necessary, as it is an opportunity for us to connect and get to know prospective students and their families.

Grade 11 applicants, please note that the IB Diploma Programme Math curriculum is advanced and therefore, incoming Grade 11 students must complete the Ontario Grade 11 Functions Math credit (MCR3U) before starting at Branksome Hall in September. There are several options to complete this requirement, and Admissions will guide incoming Grade 11 students through the process. For questions, please contact us at admissions@branksome.on.ca.
