Local and Global Opportunities
Branksome’s mission to shape a better world is brought to life by students giving back locally and globally.
A Globally Minded School
From supporting Toronto communities to engaging in international service projects, our students use their talents to make a difference.

Local Opportunities
Local organizations that need caring volunteers seek out Branksome’s students for a wide range of roles, from volunteering in peer math tutoring to Best Buddies and Horizons.

Global Opportunities
With global connections such as our study abroad program with Branksome Hall Asia and other exchanges, we empower students to serve and learn worldwide.
OUR GLOBAL OPPORTUNITIES
Nothing broadens understanding like seeing what’s beyond the horizon. Branksome Hall has cultivated several international relationships in addition to our Grade 9 study abroad program with Branksome Hall Asia, our sister school on Jeju Island, South Korea. They provide the opportunity for exchange and trips abroad.

Branksome hall Asia

Our Sister School
Located on Jeju Island, South Korea, Branksome Hall Asia opened in 2012 as an independent school with its own Principal and Board of Governors. The school has adopted the vision and mission of Branksome Hall Canada, and it offers the IB curriculum with classes conducted primarily in English.

Award-Winning Campus
The school’s award-winning design reflects some of the natural elements of Jeju Island, including volcanic rock, as well as Canadian-inspired elements such as timber. Facilities include an Olympic-sized swimming pool, a 350-seat performing arts centre, a golf academy and a state-of-the-art Science, Technology, Engineering, Math (STEM) and Visual Art Centre.

Grade 9 Study Abroad
Just before March Break, all Grade 9 students have the opportunity to travel to Branksome Hall Asia for an immersive global engagement experience. With their BHA buddies, they undertake a week-long unit of study focused on Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics. The trip also includes excursions to Jeju Island’s historic and cultural attractions, as well as a three-day visit to Seoul.
STUDENT EXCHANGE PROGRAMS
Branksome Hall’s International Student Exchange Program allows students in Grades 8–10 to experience school and daily life in another country for a period of two-to-five weeks. Branksome currently has four exchange partnerships with schools in Australia, England, Scotland and Spain.
Participation in the Student Exchange Program provides students with an enriching and immersive experience in another culture and a unique opportunity to attend school in other parts of the globe.

International TRIPS
International trips offer a unique experiences and the opportunity to engage in community projects and cultural immersion.
In the 2025-26 school year, students in Grades 9-12 have the opportunity to travel to South Africa (March 2026), the Yukon ( June 2026, in partnership with ALIVE Outdoors), Vietnam (June 2026, in partnership with ALIVE Outdoors) and Costa Rica (June/July 2026).

Travel Assistance

Travel Assistance
Recognizing the importance of travel opportunities and the financial constraints that school trips might impose, endowed bursaries, established by donors, enable our students to participate in these specialized programs.
Learn MoreOUR LOCAL OPPORTUNITIES
Part of Branksome’s mission is to shape a better world, and students live this through engagement with others. They enthusiastically commit to challenging themselves to support a person or a community.

Community Engagement
Branksome Hall’s community engagement program is rooted in authentic, reciprocal partnerships based on mutual understanding, shared learning and deep respect.

Year-Round Opportunities
Community engagement happens in many ways, including through participation in special events, weekly partnerships and special projects. Students are encouraged to find something they are passionate about and get involved in an ongoing way.

Student-Led
We take informed and sustainable student-led action, recognizing that no action is sometimes best. Our learning takes place through critical and continuous reflection to become responsible citizens who are inspired to make the world a better place.

Employee Engagement
Faculty and staff believe in modelling the behaviours we expect from our students, while at the same time, learning from their example.
