Our Learning Strategies department offers a differentiated support model both in and out of the classroom, as well as early literacy and math intervention in the Junior School. We also offer before- and after-school homework support.
Learning Strategies support is an integral part of our academic program. Our goal is to work with students, their families, School Counsellors and teachers to support the academic success of each student.
Students get help learning “how to learn.” Some may have an identified learning need or want help with time management, or they may need support with a specific subject.
In Senior & Middle School, students can attend workshops or lessons to learn executive functioning skills such as planning and prioritizing, study skills and test-taking tips. The Learning Strategies Centres are open for drop-in support for all students. Individualized plans with strategies are shared confidentially with teachers for students with identified learning needs, as are testing accommodations.
