OUR WORLD-CLASS IB CURRICULUM

Branksome Hall offers a world-class International Baccalaureate (IB) curriculum, fostering critical thinking, creativity and global-mindedness. With a focus on academic excellence, personal growth and inquiry-based learning, Branksome prepares students for success in higher education and beyond. The IB programme at Branksome Hall emphasizes leadership, community engagement and global awareness, with students able to choose between the Full Diploma and IB Select in Grades 11 and 12.

Creativity, Activity and Service

All Grades 7–12 students are given opportunities for experiential learning or gaining knowledge through participating in new activities outside of the classroom.

Inquiry-Based Learning

Inquiry-based learning encourages students to ask questions, explore topics deeply and think critically, fostering a love of learning and independent problem-solving skills.

International Perspectives

Branksome's IB programme fosters international perspectives by encouraging global awareness, critical thinking and cultural understanding, preparing students to become active, informed global citizens.

INNOVATION AND LEADERSHIP AT BRANKSOME HALL

At Branksome, innovation is at the heart of everything we do. Our students are encouraged to bring their ideas to life, solve complex problems and take risks. Our educators lead with data-driven research, supporting student entrepreneurship through Noodle, our groundbreaking accelerator program. The entire community collaborates to advance girls’ education with initiatives such as the new Karen L. Jurjevich Innovation Centre and Studio Theatre (iCAST), opening in 2026.

THE CHANDARIA RESEARCH CENTRE

Asking and answering questions about educational excellence is a priority at Branksome Hall. In 2016, we opened the Chandaria Research Centre (CRC), one of the few school-based research centres in Canada and internationally. Focused on enhancing teaching, well-being and global perspectives, the CRC fosters collaboration and innovation, partnering with schools and organizations to advance research and share findings.

The Centre for Strategic LeadershiP

The Centre for Strategic Leadership (CSL) at Branksome Hall, the first of its kind in a Canadian JK-Grade 12 school, empowers employees to develop leadership skills through a range of programs. Focused on personal and professional growth, the CSL uses a strength-based, values-driven approach to foster alignment with the school’s mission, strategy and priorities in social-emotional learning (SEL), Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI), and innovation.

WELL-BEING

At Branksome, we are committed to supporting our students and employees in their physical, mental and emotional well-being. Our Student Support Team is a diverse group of educators and professionals from around our school who are here to support our students in both their academic and personal growth. The team is made up of School Counsellors, Social Workers, School Nurses, Learning Strategies Teachers, University Counsellors, the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion team and the Boarding team.
