Extending Her Legacy From Alum Walkway to Alum Donor Wall

Hubie YU’08 has extended her legacy at Branksome Hall. Her name is engraved on a paver, on the Alum Walkway behind the Athletics & Wellness Centre, opened in 2015. And that’s why it was meaningful to her to also be part of the Alum Donor Wall, a highly visible installation in iCAST celebrating our generous alums.
“It felt like a natural way to extend my impact,” says Yu, a past treasurer of the Branksome Hall Alumnae Association and a Tech and Privacy Lawyer at Arc'teryx in Toronto. “I also like that it's an accessible donation level, to broaden participation as much as possible.”

“Shaped in a five-foot-tall BH, 300 alum names will greet visitors as they enter from the overpass connecting the Athletics & Wellness Centre (AWC) to iCAST. The memorable installation will be a fixture in students’ memories, celebrated by everyone who visits iCAST—today and long into the future.
“Branksome is a big part of who I am today, " says Yu, who arrived at the school from Hong Kong in Grade 8. “It was my first school in Canada and we were the first International Baccalaureate cohort there, so it means a lot to me; I’m very happy to contribute.”
