Bronze Medallion

The Bronze medals are the prerequisite to lifeguarding.

BRONZE MEDALLION

The second of three Bronze programs, Bronze Medallion will start to challenge candidates both mentally and physically. Judgement, knowledge, skill and fitness – the four components of water rescue – form the basis of Bronze Medallion training.

Water Smart Education

Candidates acquire the assessment and problem-solving skills needed to make good decisions in, on, and around the water. Bronze Medallion is a prerequisite for assistant lifeguard training in Bronze Cross.

Prerequisite

Minimum 13 years of age or Bronze Star certification.

The Lifesaving Society provides a fun and challenging progression of lifesaving training programs. The Junior Lifeguard Club, Canadian Swim Patrol, and 3 Bronze medal awards are designed for swimmers between 8 and 15 years of age.
