At just 12 years old, Branksome Hall Grade 6 student Audrey Lu has already made her mark on one of golf’s most iconic courses. Audrey travelled to Augusta National Golf Club to compete in the prestigious Drive, Chip and Putt National Finals on Sunday, April 5, 2026. Held annually ahead of the Masters Tournament and bringing together top young golfers from across North America, the competition showcases the next generation of talent in a setting steeped in history.
Audrey’s golf journey began at just five years old. She fell in love with the sport at a summer golf camp and hasn’t looked back. With her father as her caddy and her mother and younger brother cheering her on, Audrey’s skills have only improved further. Now, just seven years later, she has competed on the same green as legends such as Tiger Woods and Ben Hogan.

For Audrey, the experience was nothing short of extraordinary. “It was definitely a once-in-a-lifetime experience, being able to hit a putt on the 18th hole at Augusta,” she shared. “The course is just so beautiful.”
Audrey qualified for the National Finals through a series of local, sub-regional and regional competitions, earning her spot among an elite group of junior golfers. Competing in the Girls 12–13 division, she demonstrated poise and precision across all three disciplines—driving, chipping and putting—holding her own against some of the strongest young players in the game, and finishing in eighth place out of 10.

“I am just really proud of all my hard work and practice every day, which got me where I am today,” said Audrey. Her achievement at the National Finals reflects not only her individual talent but also the supportive community around her. At Branksome, Audrey balances her academic commitments with her athletic pursuits, embodying the school’s commitment to excellence both in and out of the classroom.

While still early in her journey, Audrey’s experience at Augusta National marks an exciting milestone—and perhaps just the beginning of what promises to be a remarkable path in the sport.
“I really hope that the next time I see Augusta National, it’s in the Augusta National Women’s Amateur,” said Audrey.
As she continues to refine her game and set new goals, Audrey Lu is undoubtedly a name to watch!
